2013 Rewind

My 2013 In Review

Reviewing the highlights of my year has become an annual tradition for me (like many of you), so here goes. When I think back on 2013, this is what stands out for me:

My first novel was published! *happy dance*

I finished writing my second novel. (And it’s all set for release in June 2014.)

I had the privilege of spending another year blogging for Erica Ehm’s fabulous Yummy Mummy Club.

After having to miss the past two years, I finally had the chance to attend SiWC again, my all-time fave writing conference. And this year, I was honored by being invited to speak on a panel.

I turned 41. (Okay…maybe a wee bit anticlimactic compared to the big 4-0 of the previous year.)

I celebrated 12 amazing years of marriage.

My big boy turned 8; my baby turned 3. And I guess that means I can’t call either of them babies anymore. {Except I will ALWAYS call them my babies.}

I returned to Toronto to attend (for the second year in a row) the amazing blogging conference, BlissDom Canada, and had a ridiculous amount of fun dancing and drinking wine networking with so many of my favorite people.

I was invited to be on University of Victoria’s Speaker’s Bureau.

I went to Kansas City, Missouri. {crickets chirping} So…okay, maybe this destination doesn’t appear on anyone’s bucket list. But I went for a very particular reason: to attend RT Booklovers Convention as part of my publisher’s promotional efforts. And it was so fun. Plus, I signed stuff, you guys! SIGNED stuff. Me.

My husband and I took our boys on a kickass road trip to California.

I was invited to take part in a reading challenge, and as a guest blogger, took the opportunity to research the intersection of my two mega loves (books and health, of course–what were you thinking?) to write The Health Benefits of Reading.

And which blog post was my favorite to write? That’s easy: 100 Things I Love.

Happy New Year! *clink*
