A Mom’s Quest For “Me Time”

Young Woman Enjoying the ViewHow do moms get “me time”? Is it even a possibility? Or just a faraway dream?

This is something I struggle with all. The. Time.

I work outside the home, so my days and weeks feel like a constant tug-of-war (internal and external). I literally run from one task to the next. I have an everpresent feeling of guilt, hovering somewhere over my left shoulder. To try to find the time, somewhere in all that, to do things that are just for me, to take even more time away from my kids, to shoehorn something else into the schedule? Fuhgettaboutit.

Maybe you know exactly what I’m talking about.

Over on my blog on Yummy Mummy Club, this is what I was musing about this week. And if you’re with me…head over there and check it out.

  1. I really enjoyed your post of YMC. My husband and I are preparing for our first little one in June and I’m wondering how I’ll possibly juggle it all especially since I own my own business and work from home. I’ll need to work extra hard to separate my time and see that both parts of my life (personal and professional) get the attention they need.

Thank you, and a big congratulations! I’m not gonna lie–life is going to change big-time for you in June. In challenging ways, but also in breathtakingly wonderful ways, too. You will undoubtedly have to work hard to meet all your personal & professional needs…but knowing that, going in, you are already way ahead of the curve (trust me).
