I started a reading challenge this week! Tressa is a lovely book blogger I’ve come to know, and when she invited me to participate, I thought it sounded like so much fun I just had to join in. The idea is this: now that the kids are back in school, it’s the perfect time to take a big bite out of the HUGE To-Be-Read pile that so many of us have (me included).
Never having taken part in a Read-a-Thon before, I’m just starting to get this figured out. But it seems the place to begin is with some goals. So here are mine:
1. Number of books to read each day: I’d like to finish 1 book every 2 days (Oh, how I would LOVE to be able to read more…but it’s all about the time crunch…see my bio if you don’t know what I’m talking about 😉
2. Which books to read: I have a loooong TBR list on my goodreads page, so I’m just going to start at the top and work my way down…(if you see me on goodreads, by the way, feel free to friend me!!).
2. By the end of the Read-a-Thon I’d like to have read a total of: 7 books. In some ways this feels like the tip of the iceberg, but I’m excited to get my list down even by this much. I think I’ll probably post my updates on my Goodreads profile, that’ll be the quickest & easiest thing to do (leaving more time for reading!).
And…on Sept 18th I’m scheduled to do a featured Author Post! So I’ll be posting about TYTBR here, (and…pssst…doing a giveaway of my own book, too!!). Meet me back here on the 18th!
So we’re two days in to the challenge, what have I read so far?
On the weekend, I polished off these books:
The Agency, by YS Lee
Stormbreaker, by Anthony Horowitz
And yesterday I started Vampire Academy, by Richelle Mead.
(…and in my car, I’m listening to Sinner by Tess Gerritsen. Not sure if audiobooks count? Will have to consult with Tressa or Laura, my TYTBR sherpas.)
