Book Club Kit: A Beautiful Heist

I just sent the final copyedits for my latest book back to my editor, so I find myself with a little breathing room again. What to do? Ooh, I know… I’ve been wanting to create a book club kit for A BEAUTIFUL HEIST for a while. But I thought–why not go beyond merely providing discussion questions? Let’s take this up a notch.… Read the rest

The Greatest Heists In History

Who doesn’t love a good heist movie (or, ahem, book)? Although sometimes, the real thing can be just as dramatic and exciting. If you know me, you know I’ve got a bit of a thing for infographics, and here’s one I was sent a while ago that’s right up my alley. Enjoy! Copyright SimpliSafe Wireless Home SecurityRead the rest

The Magic Of The Surrey International Writers’ Conference

Last weekend I attended my all-time favorite writing conference, the Surrey International Writers’ Conference. I’ve been going to this conference almost every year since 2004, and it’s always a slice of heaven for me. Here’s my attempt to sum up all the reasons I love SIWC. Before SIWC, I was a closet writer (this is literally true—in my first condo I converted a closet into a writing “office”).… Read the rest

The Health Benefits Of Reading

I’m an avid reader and I always have been. So when someone says to me, with a vaguely superior air (and this happens surprisingly often): “Oh, I don’t read fiction. I don’t have time for that. I’m too busy; I have more important things to do…”, well, this is how I feel: I’m sorry…what did you just say? Today’s post is my contribution to Tackle Your TBR Read-A-Thon , a super fun reading challenge hosted by Tressa’s Wishful Endings and Colorimetry.Read the rest

The dream of every writer…

Every writer fantasizes about the day they can hold a real, live book with their name on it. And it’s not that it wasn’t a thrill to have my debut novel published in digital format in June of this year, because it definitely was. Also, I happen to love e-books, and am clinically addicted to my e-reader. But, well…I have to admit there was a fair bit of squealing at my house when THIS arrived on the doorstep: Yes, people, that is a real, live paperback!… Read the rest

Virtual Book Tour Week 3

Whew! All this jet-setting is exhausting. Here’s where I went last week… First I went to the seaside. Seaside Book Nook, that is. Jilleen gave me a very nice 4-star review, and you can read it here. I couldn’t get enough and just had to keep reading – my favorite kind of book! After that I visited Patricia’s Wisdom.… Read the rest

Virtual Book Tour: Reviews That Bring On The Happy

This week of blog touring is off to a great start. Here are the blogs I’ve been featured on so far: All Grown Up? This is how all Mondays should begin. Reading a review of your book that starts out like this: Who doesn’t love a good caper? I know I do, and A Beautiful Heist by Kim Foster is just about as good as it gets.… Read the rest

The Blog Tour Continues: Q&As, Guest Posts, and Giveaways

I had so much fun during my first full week of blog touring! Here are the blogs I visited: Mom In Love With Fiction did a very nice review of my book. Her summarizing words:  If you are a reader who enjoys thrills coupled with well-developed characters, pick up A Beautiful Heist. Not only will it have you on the edge of your seat at times, it will also give you a character who promises to only get more interesting in future installments.… Read the rest

Next Stop On My Blog Tour: Reading Reality

Today I’ve been hanging out over on Reading Reality, a fabulous book blog by Marlene Harris. After reading my book last week, Marlene asked me if I’d like to write a guest post about the enduring appeal of the heist story. I immediately said why yes, yes I would…and here is the result. She then posted a lovely review of my book (which, quite frankly, had me doing a happy dance this morning).… Read the rest

So today’s stop for my virtual book tour is: Mom In Love With Fiction Tia, a wonderful book blogger, did a very nice review of my book on her blog. You can read it right here. Her summarizing words, though, were these: If you are a reader who enjoys thrills coupled with well-developed characters, pick up A Beautiful Heist.
