The Jewels In The Great Gatsby

countdown banner

This weekend I’m going to see The Great Gatsby. I don’t care if I can’t get a sitter. The kids will be fine for a couple of hours, right?

See, I am a big Baz Luhrmann fan (ever since Moulin Rouge, which rocked my world). And, although I didn’t start out loving Leonardo DiCaprio in his earlier years, I have grown to be an ardent admirer of his work. And I have long loved the novel The Great Gatsby.

But how does this relate to my countdown? (And PS we’re at 20 days now!) Well, because of this little video I stumbled across. It’s all about the collaboration between Tiffany & Co and the makers of The Great Gatsby. It turns out they created some spectacular, one-of-a-kind pieces of jewelry just for this film.

The re-imagining of a beloved novel on screen, an anti-hero (you could argue that about Jay Gatsby, certainly), and jewelry resurrected from Tiffany archives? Speaking my language, people. Speaking my language.

I loved, loved, loved The Great Gatsby, as you already know. LOVE IT! And the fact that Tiffany & Co. was also involved makes me love it even more. I have been listening to the soundtrack non-stop, too. I’m sure you’ll love the movie. I also didn’t love Leo at first but am not the hugest Leo (and Toby, and Carey) fan ever. It was so well done! Enjoy!
